Teachers: Madeline Emmett and Halle Best
[email protected] & [email protected]
Hi, my name is Madeline Emmett! I am a freshman at Vanderbilt University, and I love it here. I am from Boston, Massachusetts. I plan on majoring in Economics and Communication Studies, but that is subject to change. I am super excited about teaching this class and learning in the process. Halle and I cannot wait to meet our students!
Hi, everyone! My name is Halle Best, I'm from New Jersey, and I'm a freshman here at Vanderbilt. I have not yet decided what I want to major in, so I have the pleasure of studying a variety of subjects for right now. I love to laugh and swim and eat cereal! Maddie and I are really looking forward to being in class with you!

Lesson 8, April 14: Illusions
We had a wonderful discussion about illusions. The girls shared their superhero homework from last lesson and all the heroes were very interesting. Being our last class, the session was bittersweet, but both the girls and I were so happy to have had the opportunity to learn from each other. I will miss everybody!

It was so nice to see you all again! I had an awesome time today teaching you about American music and I'm so glad you taught me about Pakistani music as well; you guys have some awesome music! Also, thank you so much for singing your national anthem and dancing, I really appreciate and enjoy your performances. I took a lot of pictures today and they're below. I accidentally took some of them with the "microphone muted" picture on the screen, sorry about that, but they are fun pictures anyway!
Homework: Either write a song (it can be short) or make up your own dance move (Or do both if you want!). Have fun with it!
